Much of what comes in your BSR box is being caught right offshore of San Pedro, Redondo Beach and around the Channel Islands. Our seafood is caught from safe and sustainable fishing grounds with Ocean preservation in mind and the manner in which we run BSR allows for all seafood to be traced from your table all the way back to the specific fishermen who caught it for you.

All of the fish that are caught on our boat are caught by rod and reel, hook and line, by a small team of commercial fisherman that are dedicated to providing their local community with fresh seafood while still preserving our ocean waters and the inhabitants. After purchase, you should consume or freeze your seafood within 2 - 3 days for optimal taste and texture. Make sure you keep all seafood refrigerated before cooking or freezing. If freezing, first ensure seafood is in an airtight container. When ready to cook your seafood, if frozen, make sure to thaw your seafood in the fridge overnight, not on the counter and not using warm water.

The majority of the boxes you receive will come with a chef inspired recipe or an information card on how to best prepare the seafood in that box. We pride ourselves on the network of chefs we have connections with in order to enhance your seafood dining experience at home, and to bring light to new or unconventional ways to prepare our local West Coast delicacies.
